How to Think About Allocating Money into Various Buckets – 02:15 min to 08:20 min

Direct Equities Portfolio– Investing is a full-time job. Managing a direct equities portfolio by following a structured process and staying passionate about it—while benchmarking ourselves against the market—creates accountability. This approach makes a lot of sense when handling a personal portfolio.

Mutual Funds– For a starting portfolio, mutual funds are a great product. With an investing journey of over 25 years and a close connection to fund houses, MFs offer a solid foundation for new investors.

PMS and AIF – These serve a slightly different purpose. When a personalized approach to managing money is needed—backed by a defined strategy and strong servicing capabilities to help navigate tough market cycles—PMS and AIFs make a lot of sense. If an investor works closely with a Fund Manager, these options offer meaningful value.

Ultimately how actively an investor wants to be involved with their money as the corpus scales, will lead itself to which bucket of investment they can choose.

Gold and Silver- Is the momentum over or what do we think about it? – 08:30 min to 16:50

Our Thought Process – Why and What is Gold? We view gold as a proxy for changes in nominal interest rates, inflation, and currency depreciation. The value of allocation we are willing to commit—based on an expected 10–11% growth in gold over this decade—will determine our positioning, with an expectation of short-term course correction and mean reversion.

Rather than looking at Gold as hedges against equities, Gold can be viewed as hedges against nominal interest rate going up and currency depreciation. We believe it’s always important to consider what percentage of allocation we are comfortable placing in gold, keeping in mind the potential for long-term returns and interim volatility.

Investor Mindset- Long term and reaction to drastic drawdowns – Conviction and Emotional Decision

Investors when they sail through these drastic drawdowns, we as fund house are responsible for, can we at each of these drawdowns fall much lesser than the benchmark, which portrays the robustness of the portfolio and we believe communicating this during the downfall and comforting them on the rebound of portfolio would make a lot sense.

Conviction gets built where valuations are cheap, we believe conviction comes through good risk management

How ITUS manages its Drawdowns? 26:00 min to 30:45 min

We have managed all drawdowns well through the life of fund except for the recent once where we had overweight in Pharma and underweight Banking. Through March’25 till the month we have managed the portfolio well, where the outperformance through each month. As a framework, We typically tend to position portfolio, bottom up in the right sectors in the right cycles for a growth that we do not want to pay up by adjusting the allocation and managing risk.

Macro of India- INDIA GROWTH STORY- How do we see this? 31:05 min to 36:35 min
